Literature Text

Ages ago, life
was breathed into stone; he seeks
the timeless reward.

In darkened halls an
evil lurks; sweet child, dare not
look it in the eye.

And even on the
brightest eves take heed, beware
the night’s palest face.

In the wake of death
there is rebirth, though hardly
in equal measure.

The future foretold
is valuable but must be
bought through sacrifice.

We know there is strength
in numbers, the enemy
is informed as well.

Peace has high costs, paid
gladly for the greater good;
friendship conquers all.
EDIT: We have a winner! Supach has guessed the link; each haiku stands for one of the seven Harry Potter novels! To reward her strong wit you should check out her gallery :D Thank you all for participating  I hope the collection makes a bit more sense now that you know the uniting element.

I think the first three and number seven are pretty self explanatory.
4. 'In the wake of death there is rebirth' refers to Voldemort's rising after Cedric's death.
5. 'The future foretold...bought through sacrifice' refers to the battle for Trelawney's prophesy and Sirius' death.
6. 'strength in numbers...the enemy is informed as well' refers to Voldemort's use of, not one, but sever horcruxes.

Contest!

These 7 haiku are tied together by a single link - a word or phrase. The first person to guess the link correctly will receive a small point reward (we'll say 5 points for now) and the ability to title this piece, if they so choose. Please comment your guesses below, good luck!

(ps. It's tricky! But there is a single, definite answer. I will edit the description here when someone wins :D)

I've upped the prize, this may be harder than I thought: Winner receives 15 points and the opportunity to title the piece.

This is brilliant! I love Harry Potter and I love this poem. Especially the first haiku. Such a beautiful way to express the first novel. Great work!!
