How hopeless a poem. It's easy to become defensive and offensive of power when you're so contested. Blood begets blood, begets blood, begets blood. You've been thrown into the world as a woman, a sex far too often seen as defenseless and purposeless to power consumption. Women can still abuse, of course, as some do, but they aren't often expected to be born with strength. Innocence, she is seen as the she.
Yes, but I think it's only hopeless until people acknowledge what's happening in the world so we can change for the better. The human race is capable of so much, it's unfortunate so many - male and female - let pride and jealousy and greed and fear get in the way of bettering ourselves and our planet.
Yes, but why I say it's hopeless is because of the last line. For people to be aware of what they're doing and press on, that is hopeless. Most don't see the grand picture, so they continue, believing themselves to benefit, their enemies to lose, and nothing else than that. People are incapable of complete self-conscious-ness.
This is the Joker I know. The world burns and the man earns. This world is full of nonhumanity. There seems to be no hope at times but we cannot allow that to hinder us from the important things we must do in life.
