Wait
don't you want
all these little
pieces of you?
I've been
keeping them safe
in my heart.
don't you want
all these little
pieces of you?
I've been
keeping them safe
in my heart.

Tell Me What You've Gone and Done Now
It seems like everybody writes about romance,
the murmurs left behind,
the lonely strength of men,
the evolution of goodbye.
There will be times when I tell you I can't
be a number on a list.
I was what you are, once--
the dying star of a memory--
but you must have mistaken me
for hindsight.
I can bring your candle to glitter again,
but I can't be your oxygen.
Yes, my bed's a single--
where did you sleep last night?
Literature
you have seven days to live.
1.the news doesn't hurt:
it's his eyes that hurt you,
the glimmer of his past
creeping in just like
his father used to creep in
at three a.m.
with a sin on his mind
and rage on his hands.
he waits for you to react,
but you don't
because he's suddenly seven again,
hiding bruises
while mommy cries
in a ball on the couch.
2.you think time
is a funny thing.
people talk about it
like it is an object:
"I need more time," they say,
like they will go to the store later
and buy more.
but you know that time
is more like an ocean wave,
with an endless
pounding that continues
long after we greet the dirt,
and we want more time,
but time doesn't want
Literature
Apologies to a friend
You pour your heart out to me,
and are willing
to submerge me
in an ocean
of love
yet when I see the water
rushing towards me,
I convince myself
I don't like
to swim

If someone drew a picture of this I might actually die of happiness.
Now that I think of it, that applies to all of my poems....

Dang, this is beautiful. If I could draw people well at all I would totally draw it. I can totally picture it in my head. Such a vivid picture for such a short poem. Bravo <3
